Carole Baggerly
Grassroots Health, Director

Carole is the founding director of GrassrootsHealth, a 501c3 non-profit public health promotion organization. She is the leader of the D*action project, an international project who's mission is to solve the world’s vitamin D deficiency epidemic. Currently there are approximately 10,000 participants from all over the world who are sponsoring the project by testing their vitamin D levels twice a year and answering a health questionnaire to document the outcomes of having vitamin D serum levels in the 40-60 ng/ml range. The project already has the largest group in the world of people with those levels. It is expected that within 5 years, reductions in the incidence of 70% or more will be seen in breast cancer, colon cancer, multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes and some infectious diseases. The organization has just launched the first Protect Our Children NOW! project in San Diego to reduce the incidence of pre-term births by approximately 50%. Carole lives in San Diego with her husband, Leo L Baggerly, a physicist who is also working on some research aspects of vitamin D, specifically with the kinetics, the movement of vitamin D through the body.
