Kristen Mokhlessin
Child Passenger Safety Technician
Kristen Mokhlessin is a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician and co-founder of Seat Safe, non-profit car seat safety education. She spent 9 years in elementary education before leaving to stay home with her children. In 2014 she was in a minor car crash with both children in the car. During her research for new car seats, Kristen realized she had been making quite a few mistakes. Furthermore, she learned that up to 90% of car seats are installed incorrectly, and that injuries from crashes were the number one cause of death and permanent injury in children. Horrified by those statistics, she continued her research in the subject and signed up to get certified through Safe Kids Worldwide. Kristen founded Seat Safe with the mission to educate parents and caregivers about car seat safety. Through Seat Safe she provides online education, private car seat checks, informational classes, and question and answer sessions.
