Jackie Hartman
Parent Instructor
Jackie is the mother of two sons, 18 and 14. Jackie is a certified parent instructor with The International Network for Children and Families (INCAF), and a certified Family and Life Coach. She has been teaching classes and workshops for parents, caregivers, and educators through Scripps Memorial Hospital, The Parent Connection since 1999. In addition, she was a Parent Education Specialist at the Magdalena Ecke YMCA, and has taught classes in schools and businesses in the San Diego area. Jackie also served for four years on the Board of Directors for the Parent Connection.
Jackie started teaching because of her passion for children and her desire to educate parents and educators in one of the most important jobs in the world. Today her work has expanded to teaching child development workshops and two different parenting curriculums: Redirecting Children’s Behavior a 3 week course based upon the work of Rudolf Dreikurs, M.D., a highly noted therapist, researcher, and author of Children: The Challenge, and Raising Your Spirited Child a 3 week course based on the works of Mary Sheedy Kurcinka, award-winning educator, renowned author of Raising Your Spirited Child and Kids, Parents, and Power Struggles, and Sleepless in America.
